This past Mother’s Day, many of the families we serve received a special reminder that they are seen, appreciated, and supported thanks to the generosity of Mimi Johnson and her church community.
Together, they donated thoughtfully assembled Mother’s Day gift baskets that brought joy and encouragement to mothers and caregivers throughout our programs. Filled with care and intention, these baskets provided recipients with an opportunity to feel celebrated and valued.
Acts of kindness like these can have a lasting impact. For many families navigating challenges, receiving a gift created just for them serves as a powerful reminder that they are not alone.
As we continue supporting families in our community, we are currently seeking donations of baby wipes, infant formula, nonperishable food, strollers, car seats (only new please), and bassinets. These essential items help ensure that young children and their caregivers have access to the resources they need to thrive.

This wonderful gesture shows how compassion can brighten difficult days for families. Every thoughtful gift reminds people they are valued and supported. Reading this inspired me to appreciate simple acts of kindness. Later I relaxed by playing basketball legends, a fun game that always makes me smile after an emotional and uplifting story like this.
