At Friends of Youth, we believe that every young person deserves the opportunity to succeed. Our newly adopted Theory of Change provides a clear framework for how we work alongside youth, young adults, and families to create lasting positive outcomes in our community. It articulates not only what we do, but why we do it and the impact we strive to achieve every day. As this framework will help guide our work into the future, we value the perspectives of those we serve and partner with. We invite community members, families, youth, and stakeholders to review our Theory of Change and share their feedback through our online form, by email, or during upcoming community conversations. Your input will help us strengthen this framework and ensure it reflects the needs, strengths, and aspirations of our community.

We recognize that systemic inequalities contribute to youth and young adult homelessness, behavioral health challenges, and foster care involvement. In response, we partner with young people and families to provide the relationships, resources, and skills they need to achieve personal growth and success. Through integrated, trauma-informed services focused on behavioral health, housing stability, life skills, case management, and advocacy, we help individuals navigate the complexities of life to support them in achieving their personal goals.

Our Theory of Change is grounded in six core values: Youth First, Accountability, Equity, Relationships, Collaboration, and Quality. These values guide every decision we make and every partnership we form. Together with community partners, donors, volunteers, and supporters, we are working toward a future where fewer young people experience homelessness, more youth and families achieve stability and improved well-being, and young people thrive into adulthood with resilience, supportive relationships, and hope for the future.

We are excited to share this roadmap with our community and look forward to strengthening our partnerships as we continue creating opportunities for youth, young adults, and families to succeed.
