ANNUAL GOLF TOURNAMENT A ROUSING SUCCESS!
On July 26th over 100 Friends of Youth golfers and supporters gathered to enjoy a day of golf and good food in support of our youth and programs. It was a perfect day—sunshine and low 80’s—followed by a lovely dinner. When our client speaker, a young woman who relies on our Landing program for overnight shelter despite holding a steady job, told her story our guests immediately responded with generosity and compassion.
We are grateful for all who attended, to our wonderful volunteer committee members, including event chair and FOY board member Rick Antezana, and to the staff members who make our programs, including our overnight shelter, such supportive and excellent places for our clients.
VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT
Every year, real estate agents with Windermere go forth into the community for a day and do good. A blurb on their web site says “Community Service Day gives us an opportunity to give back to the communities where we live and work. We clean, landscape and repair parks, playgrounds, schools, shelters and community buildings.”
On June 18th, Windermere did a fabulous job cleaning, fixing and painting at Friends of Youth facilities. Windermere Real Estate Bellevue East tackled 30 year old wall paper, moss and a desperate kitchen to bring Youth Haven Bellevue into the modern age. Windermere Real Estate Kirkland Northeast painted, pruned and stained at Youth Haven Kenmore. Both facilities show the results of Windermere’s caring and compassion. To the agents at both locations, a very heartfelt thanks!
