Updated: Jun 12

This month marks a new milestone for Friends of Youth as we continue to enhance how we serve our youth and young adult clients. We are celebrating the opening of Iva Place Kirkland, an energy-efficient apartment building, with the goal of being Net Zero Energy, offering below-market-rate rents for income-qualified young adults, ages 18 - 24.

Iva Place Kirkland will be a residential community, with 15 single occupancy leased units with shared living space for young adults. It is located at 11005 NE 68th Street in Kirkland, near Houghton Center and public transit. Units will be available for those earning 30 - 50% of Area Media Income (AMI). Each unit has a private bedroom and a shared, furnished living area, including a kitchen, living room, and bathroom with utilities and wi-fi included. On-site parking is available on a limited basis.

I want to acknowledge all the stakeholders, donors, supporters, and employees who have helped realize this important milestone of creating affordable housing on the eastside for young adults, especially King County, ARCH (A Regional Coalition for Housing), and the Washington State Department of Commerce, for the funding that made this project possible.

We invite anyone who would like more information on Iva Place Kirkland, including how to apply as a potential tenant, to email leasing@ivaplacekirkland.com.
