celebrating 75 years of impact

In 1950, Iva Matsen saw a challenge in her community—too few foster homes for young people and families. With determination and the support of her faith community, she turned concern into action.

Just one year later, Friends of Youth was born. What started as a small movement has grown into a powerful force for change.

For 75 years, we’ve stood beside young people and families in their moments of greatest need, making sure they had safe housing, nourishing food, and compassionate care so they could move toward their goals with confidence.

Join us as we honor this incredible legacy and look ahead to the next 75 years of hope, opportunity, and community.
