Residential Services

Every child needs and deserves a safe and nurturing environment. When the juvenile court determines children can't remain in their own homes, they often must be placed in a licensed foster home. Yet in recent years, the number of foster homes has increased only slightly, while the number of children needing foster care has increased dramatically.

Friends of Youth has been there for these children from the start. Residential services were an essential part of our original charter more than 50 years ago, and today they remain at the heart of our mission. We nurture foster kids in need of the most intensive services, creating the most dramatic changes in their lives...and helping them see that they have a future.

Therapeutic Foster Care

With Therapeutic Foster Care (TFC), the foster household is viewed as the primary treatment setting. The foster parents are trained and supported to help the children reach their therapeutic goals and prepare for adulthood.

Griffin Home

Griffin Home is an intensive residential treatment facility for boys aged 12 to 18 who have been involved with the criminal justice system, including some with sexual behavior issues. (more)
