New Ground Bothell (NGB) in Bothell, Washington, houses 14 young
women at any given time. Residents are between the ages of 18 and 21
when they enter the program. Program residents are either pregnant or
parenting their first child up to the age of three. Our staff offers
supportive case management services that help residents set goals, complete
their GED, high school, or enter college courses, obtain employment, secure
childcare, apply for health care and benefits, and much more on an as-needed
basis. The program also offers employment specialist services for unemployed
residents or those looking for alternative employment. Parenting
classes, life skills training, access to resources and referrals, financial
management and budget planning, and the development of healthy relationships
are additional services that are provided on site.
Residents at New Ground Bothell share an apartment with a roommate
and residents are eligible to stay for up to 24 months. The apartment units have two bedrooms and one bathroom with a spacious
living room, full kitchen and a laundry facility. The apartments are
located inside a secure, locked building for the safety of residents and
their children and are monitored by a video security system to ensure the
safety of residents and staff and to hold residents accountable for program
rules. There is a play area outside for the children and a beautiful,
family-centered community room inside for all residents and children.
New Ground Bothell is located near the 522 Park &
Ride providing easy access to and from Seattle and other Eastside locations
and is also
on the Community and Metro-Transit bus lines. The program site is near the post
office and a grocery store is within walking distance. Several daycare
centers are located nearby as well as resources, including the Northshore
Food Bank, WIC Center, Northshore Youth and Family Services, and Cascadia Community College / UW
Bothell campus. The Bothell Landing and two local parks are nearby.
