The Landing Program Coordinator
Description
The Landing Program Coordinator is responsible for overseeing program
development and service delivery at The Landing. In addition to Landing guest
case management enrollment, specific responsibilities include those shown below.
Responsibilities
- Administrative Duties
- Program development.
- Provision of training and initial hiring of Landing Overnight Staff.
- Facilitate monthly staff meetings and provide meeting minutes.
- Assist Program Manager with monthly Landing Advisory Board meetings.
- Attend, as needed, Friends of Youth and community meetings.
- Create Youth Advisory Board and increase Youth Development within the Landing Program.
- Assisting Program Manager in data collection for The Landing grants.
- Other duties as assigned by Landing Program Manager
- Program Operations
- Supervision of The Landing Overnight Staff.
- Oversee cleanliness and organization of The Landing area, equipment, and food.
- Managing The Landing petty cash and purchasing Landing supplies.
- Monitor accurate, up-to-date documentation in all resident files.
- On-Call to staff overnight and cover Landing shifts in case of emergencies.
- Community Outreach/Case Management
- Provision of community presentations, trainings, and Outreach.
- Enroll Landing guests in the Pro Youth Case Management Program.
- Provide necessary referrals and information for temporary housing and community resources.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in a social service related field
- Experience working with adolescents/young adults
- Experience working with homeless youth
- Experience supervising staff preferred
- Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Familiarity with Eastside resources
- Understanding normal adolescent development
- Comfortable interacting with youth in informal settings
- Ability to establish and maintain trusting relationships (patience and perseverance)
- Ability to develop appropriate boundaries
- Must demonstrate sensitivity to needs of clients in crisis
- Ability to observe and discuss behavior problems and suggest appropriate alternatives
- Ability to work in a setting that can be highly stressful
- Consistently maintain required paperwork
- Must have valid Washington State driver’s license or be able to obtain one by the employment date
- Employees and volunteers who operate their own or Friends of Youth
vehicles on Friends of Youth business must have a safe driving record as
defined by Friends of Youth. Employees and volunteers who operate their own
vehicles on Friends of Youth business must carry auto liability insurance that
complies with the requirements of Friends of Youth.
- Must demonstrate sensitivity and responsiveness to cultural differences.
Hours
5 evenings till 11:30 pm or 32 hours/week if also working one overnight (8:30 pm - 8:30 am) shift weekly. Fri/Sat off
Salary
$14-15.00/hr DOQ plus benefits
